Georg Prader (born June 15, 1917 in St. Pölten , † March 16, 1985 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

After primary school and high school, Prader studied law at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1946. iur. PhD. From 1954 to 1959 member of the Federal Council , in 1959 he moved to the National Council , where he held a mandate until 1979. From 1964 to 1970 Prader was Minister of Defense in the Klaus I and Klaus II cabinets . During this time he led the acquisition of interceptors company Saab in the way. In addition, he was regional party leader of the Lower Austrian ÖVP from 1967 to 1975 and in 1968 held the office of chairman of the ÖAAB Lower Austria.

Prader was received by Udonia Seitenstetten in 1933, held several positions there and had been a member of the Catholic student union KaV Norica Vienna since 1937 .
