Gisela Stein
Gisela Stein (born October 2, 1934 in Swinemünde , Pomerania ; † May 4, 2009 in Mohrkirch , Schleswig-Holstein ) was a German actress .
Life
The training at the Wiesbaden drama school (1953) followed first engagements in Koblenz , Krefeld - Mönchengladbach and Essen ( Erwin Piscator ). In 1960 Stein moved to the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin , where she found her artistic home for nineteen years. In collaboration with directors such as Hans Lietzau ( Inge in Max Frisch's " Graf Öderland ", 1961; Ranewskaja in Chekhov's " Der Kirschgarten ", 1979) Fritz Kortner (title role in Hebbels ' " Maria Magdalena ", 1966), Niels-Peter Rudolph ( Elena in Chekhov's " Onkel Wanja ", 1977) and Günther Krämer (title role in Schiller's Maria Stuart , 1977) she matured here to become one of the great German character actresses.
Guest performances stone to the Schauspielhaus Zurich , at the Württemberg State Theater Stuttgart and after Salzburg to the Festival . In 1979 she moved to Berlin and in 1980 to the Münchner Kammerspiele , where she stayed until 2001 and was entrusted with other major tasks by Dieter Dorn .

In 1985 she appeared on stage in Achternbusch's “Mein Herbert” in a Tabori production as Luise . In 1987, Jean Racine's “ Phaedra ”, directed by Alexander Lang, and “ Penthesilea ”, also directed by Alexander Lang, followed.
Since 2001 she has been a member of the ensemble of the Bavarian State Theater . Since February 2002 Gisela Stein read “Die Schrift” in the transmission by Martin Buber and Franz Rosenzweig .
Gisela Stein died after a long illness on May 4, 2009 at her place of residence in Mohrkirch in Schleswig-Holstein.
