The Gmina Kołczygłowy is a rural municipality in the powiat Bytowski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name (German Alt Kolziglow , Kashubian Kòłczëgłowë ) with about 1000 inhabitants.

geography

The municipality is located in Hinterpommern in the west of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. About 30 kilometers north is Słupsk (Stolp) , about 20 kilometers southeast is the neighboring town of Bytów (Bütow) . It covers 173.34 km² with about 4200 inhabitants.

Several rivers run through the municipality. In the east it is the Słupia (Stolpe) , in the southeast the Kamienica (Kamenz) , in the southwest the Pokrzywa (Krumme) and in the northwest the Rybie (Rippbach) . The eastern municipal area belongs to the Stolpetal Landscape Protection Park (Park Krajobrazowy Dolina Słupi).

The provincial road 209 with connection to the state road 21 Słupsk - Miastko and numerous smaller roads lead through the municipality .

The railway stations Kołczygówki (Neu Kolziglow) and Barnowo (Barnow) of the PKP - line 212 from Lipusz (Lippusch) via Bytów (Bütow) to Korzybie (Zollbrück) belong to the municipality. The line was opened in 1883/1884 and closed to passenger traffic in 1991.
