Gorazdowo ( German Thiemau ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Giżycko ( rural community Lötzen ) in the powiat Giżycki (district Lötzen ).
Geographical location
Gorazdowo is located in the north-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eight kilometers southwest of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) .
history
The former Gutsdorf, then called Thiem mining, was founded in 1829. After May 29, 1836, the place was called Thiem-Bogatzewen , then from July 28, 1855 to 1945 Thiemau . The small place was formed as a place within the rural community Bogatzewen (1927 to 1945 Reichensee, Polish Bogaczewo ), so that its history corresponds to that of the mother community. It was an official village and belonged to the district of Lötzen in the administrative district of Gumbinnen (1905 to 1945: administrative district of Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . Thiemau had 77 inhabitants in 1905.
As a result of the war, Thiemau was transferred to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia . Since then, the place has been called "Gorazdowo" in Polish. He is now the mayor's office (Polish sołectwo) Szczybały Giżyckie ( Sczyballen , 1928-1945 Schön bales) incorporated, the linking Gmina Giżycko (Town Lötzen ) in giżycko county (district Lötzen belongs), before 1998 the Suwalki province , since the Warmia -Masures assigned.
Religions
Until 1945 Thiemau was parish in the Protestant Church of Rydzewen (1927 to 1945 Rotwalde, Polish Ryzewo) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .
