history
Gumpenweiler was first mentioned in a document in 1346. The place was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 there were 4 properties and 1 communal shepherd's house. The landlords were the Feuchtwangen monastery administration office (2 properties) and the Crailsheim caste office , which administered the claims of the Leukershausen parish (1 property) and the Bergertshofen church maintenance authority (1 property). Until the end of the Old Kingdom nothing changed in the situation. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .
In 1806 Gumpenweiler was arbitrarily added to the Kingdom of Bavaria as a place on the left of the Schönbach , while Leukershausen , to which the place belonged politically until then, was added to the Kingdom of Württemberg as a place on the right of the Schönbach . This was followed by the ecclesiastical detachment from the home parish of Leukershausen and assignment to the Unterampfrach parish on Bavarian territory . With the community edict (early 19th century), Gumpenweiler was assigned to the tax district Unterampfrach and the rural community Haundorf .
In 1919 and 1955 there were applications for integration into the community of Leukershausen in order to repeal the separation ordered from above, but both of these were rejected by the Bavarian government.
In the course of the regional reform , Gumpenweiler was reclassified to Schnelldorf on January 1, 1972.
