The Hörkules is a German audio book award donated by the book trade .

General

The Hörkules is an audience award. From 2001 to 2006 it was awarded at the Leipzig Book Fair , from 2007 to 2017 at the WDR Audiobook Gala for the award of the German Audiobook Prize and since 2018 again at the Leipzig Book Fair.

The future winners will be chosen in two rounds, in which listeners (via online voting and by post card option) from a first 30 records pertaining longlist , then from a reduced to 10 titles shortlisted choose.

The Hörkulino children's audio book prize has also been awarded since 2008 .
