Hans Maeter
Hans Maeter (born December 22, 1923 in Stettin ; † August 12, 2012 in Thailand ) was a German writer and translator.
Life
Maeter published a number of novels in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as writing scripts for television series such as Das Kriminalmuseum . Under the pseudonym William Garnett , he wrote four novels for the booklet series Sea Wolves, Corsairs of the Oceans . From the late 1960s he switched to translating narrative works from English . With around 180 translated titles from the genres of science fiction , fantasy , western and detective novel, Maeter was one of the most productive translators of this time. Hans Maeter lived in Thailand since the 1990s , where he died in 2012.
