Heinz-Dieter Knaup

Heinz-Dieter Knaup (born October 6, 1929 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German actor .

Life

From 1949 to 1952 he received acting lessons at the German Theater Institute - Belvedere Palace in Weimar. He received his first engagement at the Stadttheater Quedlinburg and in 1954 he came to the Berliner Ensemble .

There is something special about his name: if he has a role in a film, he appears as Heinz-Dieter Knaup and in the theater as Dieter Knaup. His son Andreas Knaup works as an actor, director and playwright. He was married to the dancer and choreographer Elke Rieckhoff .
