IC 1687 is a compact, elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type C / E3 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 231 million light years from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 503 , NGC 504 , NGC 507 , NGC 508 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 1, 1899 .
