IC 1689 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 210 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 ly in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 504 , NGC 507 , IC 1688 , IC 1690 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 29, 1899 .
