IC 1701 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 382 million light years from the Milky Way and approximately 135,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 23, 1897 .
