Igor Miladinović (born January 25, 1974 in Niš ) is a Serbian grandmaster in chess .

Life

Miladinović won in 1993 in Calicut, India (since 1996 Kozhikode ) as an outsider the world championship of the under 20-year-olds , with his Elo rating of 2450 he was 11th on the starting list with 51 participants. He won with 9.5 points from 13 games in front of Vlastimil Babula , Sergei Rubljowski and Alexander Onischuk with 9 points each (the German Christian Gabriel was fifth).

As a single player Miladinović took part in 1997 in Groningen in the first knockout world championship of the world chess federation FIDE , in the first round he defeated the Dane Curt Hansen , in the second he failed against the Dutchman Loek van Wely .

About the turn of the year 2003/2004 Miladinović won the 46th edition of the traditional tournament of Reggio nell'Emilia , the following year he finished second. The sixth edition of the strong invitation tournament in Malmö (Siegeman & Co.), he won unbeaten in 1998 together with Joël Lautier , whom he was able to defeat in their individual game.

Miladinović is an active tournament player who competes in numerous open tournaments, including the Liechtenstein Open in 2003, several tournaments in Italy and the Cannes Open in 2004 .

Since 2005 Miladinović has played for Serbia and Montenegro, after the dissolution of the confederation for Serbia. In February 2015, it was ranked fourth on Serbia's rating list.

National team

Miladinović took part in five Chess Olympiads , in 1994 for Yugoslavia, 1996 , 1998 , 2000 and 2002 for Greece. In 1994 he achieved the third best individual result on the fourth board. He represented Greece at the European Team Championships in 1997 and 2001, Serbia in 2007 and 2009, and played on the top board of the second team in 2009.

Miladinović was active in club chess in various countries. In France he played for the Club de La Tour Sarrazine Antibes in the 2005/06 season , in the Bosnian Premijer Liga in 2006 for the ŠK Drvar , in 2007 and 2008 for the ŠK Glasinac Sokolac , in 2009 for the ŠK Panteri Bijeljina and in 2013 for the ŠK Slavija Istočno Sarajevo . He took part in the European Club Cup in 2001 with the Greek club AO Kydon-Supersport Chania and in 2009 with the Montenegrin club ŠK Budućnost Podgorica .
