Isabel is the Spanish and Portuguese form of the German female given name Elisabeth .

Isabelle is French, in French belle , the form Isabella is presumably conveyed via French and Italian bella . Due to the voiced pronunciation of the "s" , the name in its Polish , Hungarian and Romanian form has the orthographic realizations Izabella and Izabela.
