James Hall Huling

James Hall Huling (born March 24, 1844 in Williamsport , Pennsylvania , † April 23, 1918 in Charleston , West Virginia ) was an American politician .

Huling served in the Pennsylvania Cavalry in 1863 . Professionally, he worked in the timber industry. In 1870, Huling moved to West Virginia and continued his professional activity until 1874. From 1884 to 1888 he held the office of mayor of Charleston, but then turned down another term.

Huling was elected as a Republican in the 54th Congress and represented there from March 4, 1895 to March 3, 1897 the state of West Virginia in the US House of Representatives . He then returned to his previous job in Charleston. Huling died in Charleston in 1918 and was buried in Pleasant View Cemetery .
