Jessica Tandy / filmography
Jessica Tandy's filmography names the films in which the British film actress Jessica Tandy has starred. Tandy starred in numerous films from the 1930s until shortly before her death at the age of 85 in 1994.
She made her film debut in the 1932 film The Indiscretions of Eve by Cecil Lewis , where she played a housemaid. In 1944 she starred in the film The Seventh Cross based on the novel by Anna Seghers . In the 1950s, she was a well-known serial actress in the United States who appeared on numerous programs. Important roles in movies included Lydia Brenner in Alfred Hitchcock's Die Vögel and Miss Daisy in Bruce Beresford's Miss Daisy and Her Chauffeur , for which she won an Oscar in 1990 as the oldest actress to date in the best leading actress category that of the Ninny Threadgoode in Green Tomatoes 1991. She played in numerous films with her husband Hume Cronyn , including Cocoon and The Miracle on 8th Street .
