Johann Sigismund von Glaubitz

Johann Sigismund Freiherr von Glaubitz (born January 17, 1764 in Sebnitz , † February 27, 1838 in Küstrin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were the Prussian Second Lieutenant a. D. Heinrich Sigismund von Glaubitz (1724–1804) and his wife, born from Berge and Herrndorf.

Career

Glaubitz went to school in Sagan and took effect on 1 September 1779 as Junker in the Dragoon Regiment "of bosses" of the Prussian army one. By February 1792 he advanced to prime lieutenant and took part in the cannonade near Valmy , the battle near Kaiserslautern and the battles near Frankenthal , Frankfurt am Main , Trippstadt , St. Martin, Zweibrücken and Kreuznach during the First Coalition War. Glaubitz also took part in the sieges of Longwy , Verdun and the blockade of Landau . He rose to major by March 14, 1799 and fought as such in the Fourth Coalition War . Glaubitz was wounded in the battle of Jena and brought to Magdeburg . With the surrender of the fortress , he became a prisoner of war and was made inactive.

After the Peace of Tilsit , he was registered with the gendarmerie on October 22, 1810, and on February 6, 1813 he was employed as a major with his old patent as a district brigadier in the gendarmerie. On November 1, 1813 Glaubitz came as a senior brigadier to the New Mark Gendarmerie and on November 24, 1813 became a lieutenant colonel .

After the Wars of Liberation, Glaubitz was promoted to colonel on September 19, 1818 with a patent from September 21, 1818 , and on December 30, 1820, was appointed brigadier of the 7th Gendarmerie Brigade. In this position Glaubitz received the Order of the Red Eagle III on January 20, 1828 . Class. Under awarding of the character he was on 25 March 1829 a major general pension of 1200 thalers the farewell granted. He died on February 27, 1838 in Küstrin.

Glaubitz married on October 17, 1790 in Sagan Sophie Elisabeth Pusch (1769-1829), a daughter of the mayor of Sagan August Friedrich Pusch († 1804). The couple had several children:
