Julija Anatolijiwna Tkatsch ( Ukrainian Юлія Анатоліївна Ткач , scientific. Transliteration Julija Anatoliïvna Tkáč * 26. September 1989 in Kovel , Oblast Volyn region , Ukrainian SSR , USSR as Julija Anatolijiwna Ostaptschuk , Ukrainian Юлія Анатоліївна Остапчук ) is a Ukrainian wrestler . She became European champion in 2011 and 2012 and world champion in 2014 in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight.

Career

Julija Tkatsch started wrestling in 2002. She belongs to the Dinamo / Spartak Lviv sports club and has been coached by Andrei Pistun since 2007. It is 1.68 meters tall and starts in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight. She is a student. Until the end of 2012 she started under her maiden name Ostaptschuk, after her marriage and the birth of a child from 2014 under the name Tkach.

Tkatsch completed her first international assignment at the European Women's Championships 2007 in Sofia in the weight class up to 59 kg. She had two wins there and was only just defeated on points in the fight for an EM bronze medal against Galina Legenkina from Russia . In the same year she was then Junior European Champion in Belgrade in the weight class up to 63 kg and in Beijing also Junior World Champion in the same weight class. In the final, she defeated Jekaterina Melnikowa from Russia. The Ukrainian Wrestling Association then used them at the World Championships in Baku . You get there three victories, u. a. She also defeated the experienced Austrian Nikola Hartmann-Dünser , but then lost to Jelena Schalygina from Kazakhstan and also to Monika Ewa Michalik from Poland in the fight for a bronze medal at the World Championships . She reached the 5th place, which earned her the right to start at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In 2008 she was again Junior European Champion in Košice , where she again defeated Jekaterina Melnikowa in the final. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, she lost in her first fight against the American Randi Miller by just a few points (1: 2 rounds, 2: 5 points). Since Randi Miller did not reach the final, Julija Tkatsch did not make it into the consolation round and therefore only came in 11th place.

At the 2009 European Junior Championships in Tbilisi she then won her third title in a row. In the final, she defeated the Swiss Karin Stingelin. However, she had no luck at the 2009 World Cup in Herning / Denmark , because she lost there in her second fight against Jelena Schalygina and was eliminated. In the final statement she came in 10th place in Herning.

In 2010 Julija Tkatsch won her first medal at an international championship for women at the European Championships in Baku in the weight class up to 63 kg. She lost there against Lyubov Mikhailovna Wolossowa from Russia, but beat Olesja Samula from Azerbaijan in the fight for a bronze medal . In 2010 she was also the student world champion in Turin .

Her first big win at an international championship was the 2011 European championship in Dortmund . She won the European Championship there with five wins and defeated Tajbe Jusein from Bulgaria in the final . At this year's World Cup in Istanbul , she didn't get along so well. She lost there in her second fight against the multiple world champion Kaori Icho from Japan and was also defeated in the consolation round against Jelena Schalygina and against Jing Ruixue from the People's Republic of China and ended up in 7th place.

In 2012 Julija Tkatsch was again European champion in the weight class up to 63 kg in Belgrade . With Johanna Mattsson , Sweden , Audrey Prieto , France , Elif Yesilirmak , Turkey and Natalja Smirnowa , Russia, she defeated four very strong wrestlers. Then she qualified in the qualifying tournament in Sofia in the same weight class for participation in the Olympic Games in London. In London she came first to victories against Elena Schalygina from Kazakhstan and Marianna Sastin from Hungary, but then retired against Lyubow Michailowna Wolossowa from Russia and finished in 7th place.

After the maternity year 2013, she returned to the wrestling mat in 2014. At the European Championships in April 2014 in Vantaa / Finland she won another medal in the weight class up to 63 kg. After winning two fights, she lost there in the quarterfinals against Anastasija Grigorjeva from Latvia, but then secured a bronze medal with a victory over Adele Hanzlickova from the Czech Republic. In March 2014, she managed to become world champion for the first time in Tashkent. There she defeated Valerija Lasinskaja from Russia, Agoro Papavasileiou from Greece, Henna Johansson from Sweden and Elena Piroschkowa from the United States.

In 2015 Julija Tkatsch also won two medals at the international championships. In June 2015 she reached the final at the 1st European Games in Baku in her traditional weight class with victories over Andrea-Elena Simon , Romania, Monika Ewa Michalik , Poland and Maria Mamaschuk , Belarus, which she lost to Valerija Lasinskaja . At the 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas, she lost her first fight against Risako Kawai from Japan, because she reached the final, she was able to continue in the consolation round and win over Katherine Vidiaux Lopez, Cuba, Maria Mamaschuk and Braxton Rei Stone-Papadopoulos Canada secure a bronze medal.

In 2016 Julija Tkatsch became Vice European Champion in the weight class up to 63 kg in Riga. In the final she was defeated by Anastasia Grigoryeva from Latvia. In August 2016 she started for the third time at the Olympic Games. In Rio de Janeiro she won the same weight class over Danielle Lappage from Canada, but lost her next fight against Xu Rui from China, which she had defeated shortly before at the Polan Open in Spala in the final. With that she was eliminated and finished in 9th place. She remained without a medal at the three Olympic Games in which she started.

Despite this disappointment, she continued and won a bronze medal again in the weight class up to 63 kg at the 2017 European Championships in Novi Sad. She was even more successful at the 2017 World Cup in Paris. She arrived with wins over Ilana Kratysh from Israel, Valeria Lainskaja from Russia and Hafize Sahin from Turkey in the finals, however, in which they compared Pürewdordschiin Orkhon subject from Mongolia.

In 2018, Julija Tkatsch was only at the start of the World Championships, which took place in Budapest in October this year. In the new weight class up to 62 kg body weight, she won over Luisa Niemesch from Germany and Johanna Mattsson , lost in the semifinals to Yukako Kawai from Japan and secured a bronze medal in the consolation round with a victory over Marianna Sastin from Hungary.

In June 2019 she was the winner of the European Games in Minsk in the weight class up to 62 kg. On the way to this success she beat Lydia Perez Tourino, Spain, Maria Kuznezowa, Russia, Taybe Mustafa Yusein from Bulgaria and Elmira Gambarowa, Azerbaijan.
