Junior is an American comedy film from the year 1994 . The director was Ivan Reitman , the writer wrote Chris Conrad and Kevin Wade . The main roles are played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito , who played together in the 1988 Reitman film Twins . Emma Thompson can also be seen in a leading role .

The scientists Alex Hesse and Larry Arbogast deal with the development of human embryos . They decide to implant a fertilized egg cell in Hesse's body and examine its development for three months. They use an anonymous egg cell, which later turns out to be the egg cell of her colleague Diana Reddin.

After three months, the pregnancy should be terminated, but Hesse decides to have the child. He experiences mood swings similar to those common in pregnant women.

Hesse falls in love with Reddin, who is upset when she learns of the theft. But later she reciprocates his feelings.
