District court Spangenberg

The Spangenberg District Court (until 1867 Spangenberg Justice Office ) was a court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1822 to 1943, as a branch until 1970, with its seat in the North Hessian city of Spangenberg .

history

With the entry into force of the Hessian Organizational Edict on January 1, 1822, the judiciary and administration in the Electorate of Hesse were separated. The previous Spangenberg office lost its administrative functions to the newly formed Melsungen district and, as the Spangenberg justice office, only served the judiciary. The district of the Spangenberg Justice Office, which was considerably smaller than the previous office, comprised the former communities of Spangenberg, Altmorschen , Bergheim , Bischofferode , Elbersdorf , Eubach , Günsterode , Heina , Heinebach , Herlefeld , Konnefeld , Landefeld , Metzebach , Mörshausen , Nausis , Neumorschen , Pfieffe , Schnellrode , Stolzhausen , Vockerode , Weidelbach and Wichte .

As a result of the annexation of Electorate Hesse by the Kingdom of Prussia after the German War in 1866, a royal decree was issued in June 1867 that reorganized the court system in the former Electorate of Hesse and the parts of the territory that were formerly part of the Kingdom of Bavaria. The previous judicial authorities have been repealed and replaced by local courts in the first, district courts in the second and a court of appeal in the third instance. As a result, the previous judicial office was converted into the Spangenberg District Court and assigned to the district of the Rotenburg District Court .

Due to the Courts Constitution Act , there was a change to the district of the newly established Kassel District Court with effect from October 1, 1879 , but the district of the Spangenberg District Court itself did not change.

With the abolition of the Bischhausen District Court on September 30, 1932, the Spangenberg District Court district expanded to include Burghofen , Friemen , Gehau , Hetzerode , Mäckelsdorf and Schemmern .

In 1943 the Spangenberg District Court lost its independence and became a branch of the Melsungen District Court . After the towns of Burghofen, Friemen, Hetzerode, Mäckelsdorf and Schemmern on July 1, 1957, and on July 1, 1968

the place Gehau had been handed over to the district court Eschwege , this branch was closed with effect from July 1, 1970.
