The KSK Music Open (alternative spelling : Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg musicOpen) is an open-air concert series that has been recurring annually since 2010, which annually attracts a large number of visitors to the central courtyard of the Ludwigsburg residential palace .

The organizer, Eventstifter GmbH, wants to reach a wide audience and offers a program with different musical styles , such as pop , rock , metal , classical and hit music .

In the first few years between two and four concerts were held as part of the KSK music open, over the years the number increased to six main concerts. As a result, the number of visitors also increased: in 2010 the festival had around 15,400 visitors, in 2014 there were 27,600 visitors, and the year 2016 set a record of 40,000 music enthusiasts.

KSK music open was launched in 2010 by Eventstifter GmbH, based in Ludwigsburg, and with Jan Delay , Culcha Candela , VanessaMae and Udo Jürgens , they immediately achieved great success. Since then, the KSK music open has taken place annually in the last week of July and the first week of August.

In 2011 the organizer, according to its own statements, did not find enough top-class artists who would have met the quality standards defined in the previous year.

From 2012 the concert series started with , among others, Clueso , Teddy Comedy and Max Raabe , and from then on tried to increase every year. Several top acts such as Casper , Sunrise Avenue , Pur , Sido , Kollegah , Silbermond , Andreas Bourani , Yvonne Catterfeld and many others followed in the next few years .

The KSK music open takes place in one of the largest baroque complexes in Germany, in the courtyard of the Ludwigsburg residence palace.

Visitors

The number of visitors increased between 2012 and 2016, which is due not only to the number of concerts but also to the type. In 2013 there were three concerts, whereas in 2017 there were six concerts. In addition, concerts with seats have a capacity of almost 5,000 visitors, in contrast to concerts without seats which can hold up to 10,000 visitors.

In 2016, the festival had 40,000 visitors, which is a record number of visitors. PUR and Dieter Thomas Kuhn alone played in front of 10,000 people in the castle courtyard. ZAZ had 6,000 visitors and the band Revolverheld 7,000 visitors.
