The İnönü IV cabinet was the fifth government of Turkey, which was led by İsmet İnönü from November 1, 1927 to September 27, 1930 .

In the parliamentary elections for the Turkish National Assembly on July 20, 1927, only Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's party Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkası (from 1935 Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi ) won all 335 seats. On November 1, 1927, Ataturk was elected President for the third time by the Turkish National Assembly. İsmet İnönü subsequently resigned pro forma and formed a new cabinet.

In August 1930, President Ataturk decided to introduce a multi-party system and asked his friend and former Prime Minister Fethi Okyar to found a “loyal” opposition party. Okyar founded the Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası (SCF). Due to the economic conditions resulting from the global economic crisis and accusations of nepotism , the ruling party CHF lost its approval in the following months. Prime Minister İnönü was forced to reshuffle his government.
