The İnönü VII cabinet was the eighth government of Turkey, which was led by İsmet İnönü from March 1, 1935 to November 1, 1937 .
In the general election to the Turkish National Assembly on February 8, 1935 was only Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's Party Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkası (from May 1935 Republican People's Party allowed). For the first time after the constitutional reform in 1934, women were given the right to vote and to stand as a candidate. The previous Prime Minister İsmet İnönü was charged with forming the government. Shortly after the election, President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was confirmed in office for the fourth time by the National Assembly.
In the mid-1930s, there had been initial disagreements between President Ataturk and Prime Minister İnönü. While Ataturk increasingly withdrew from day-to-day business and took care of the cultural upheavals in the country, İnönü took more and more control over government affairs and the party affairs of the CHP. Only when Ataturk did not like the government's decisions did he act immediately, and then over and over his prime minister. Inönü disliked that very much. The break occurred in September 1937. İnönü had resisted the privatization measures of the Minister of Economics, Celâl Bayar, and wanted more state economy. Ataturk, who wanted a more liberal economic system, was dissatisfied. The scandal came when Ataturk gave the Turkish foreign minister direct instructions at the Nyon conference that directly opposed those of İnönü. İnönü then complained and was urged by Ataturk to go on vacation for "health reasons". A few days later, Economics Minister Bayar took over the office of Prime Minister temporarily, then finally on October 25, 1937 and formed a new cabinet by November 1.
