Canton of Strasbourg-9

The Canton Strasbourg-9 was until 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Ville in Bas-Rhin department in the region of Alsace . Armand Jung has been a representative in the General Council of the Department since 2001 (re-elected in 2008).

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Strasbourg district". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Strasbourg. During the affiliation to the German Reich from 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the then "District of Strasbourg (city)". On June 28, 1919, the canton became part of the newly founded arrondissement Strasbourg-Ville . On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.
