Canton of Niederbronn-les-Bains
The Canton Niederbronn-les-Bains was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Haguenau , in Bas-Rhin region and in the region of Alsace .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Wissembourg District".
With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Wissembourg.
From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the then " Weißenburg District ".
On June 28, 1919, the canton became part of the newly founded Arrondissement Haguenau.
On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved. All communities now belonged to the canton of Reichshoffen .
geography
The canton bordered the cantons of Wissembourg and Wœrth in the arrondissement of Wissembourg to the north and west , the canton of Haguenau to the southeast, the cantons of Bouxwiller and La Petite-Pierre in the Saverne arrondissement to the south and the canton of Bitche in the Sarreguemines arrondissement to the west in the Moselle department ( Lorraine ).
