The District of La Petite-Pierre was 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Saverne in the Bas-Rhin in the region Alsace .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Strasbourg District". Some time later (?) He belonged to the newly founded district “Sarre-Union”. With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Saverne. From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the "Zabern District", as Saverne is called in German. On June 28, 1919, the canton again became part of the Saverne arrondissement. On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved. All municipalities now belong to the canton of Ingwiller .

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Bitche in the arrondissement Sarreguemines in the department Moselle ( Lorraine ), in the northeast on the canton Niederbronn-les-Bains in the arrondissement Haguenau , in the east on the canton Bouxwiller , in the south on the canton Phalsbourg in the arrondissement Sarrebourg im Department Moselle (Lorraine) and in the west to the canton Drulingen .
