annotation
The location of this castle is controversial. At the beginning of the 19th century, remains of stone and mortar were found on the 318 meter high Dammelsberg and believed to be here, about 1 km west of the Landgrave's castle . Later it was assumed to be behind the Sellhof near Wehrshausen , about 2.5 km west of the castle. It was also assumed that it was located on the northwestern outskirts of Marburg on the 323.5 meter high mountain Kirchspitze. As far as we know, construction remains could not be found at any of the presumed locations.
