The Castle Arms sand , even the old castle or libertine Burg called, is the ruin of a rock castle in the district of Lower Klein of Stadtallendorf in Marburg-Biedenkopf in Hessen . The former castle is located southeast of Stadtallendorf above the river Joßklein on a rock.
history
The castle was built by the Archbishop of Mainz around 1248 . Burgmannen were the masters of elections. In 1387 the castle was destroyed by troops from the Landgraviate of Hesse . In 1491 it was mentioned again as "The old castle". The castle complex consisted of a curtain wall and a keep , surrounded by a double rampart of significant size. The ramparts and remains of the curtain wall are still preserved.
