The castle Trugelrode is the ruins of a hilltop castle about 3 km west of Neustadt in Marburg-Biedenkopf in Hessen .

The castle was owned by the Archdiocese of Mainz and was first mentioned in a document in 1248. In the years 1262 and 1265 a Henricus de Trogilnrode appeared who was in the service of the County of Ziegenhain . He was probably the builder of the castle, a bower on an old military road . With Otto von Trugelrode , the noble family of the Lords von Trugelrode died out in the male line in 1459 . As early as 1373, the family had sold their properties to Gerlach von Wahlen and has probably emigrated. Around 1400, the castle with the adjacent settlement, probably by a feud orPlague to desolation .

Small remains of the wall with a moat and a brick well (field name Lämmerborn ) are still present from the former castle complex . There are no traces of the location of the former settlement and its size.
