The Hunburg is a lost moated castle opposite the Hainmühle an der Ohm in the Betziesdorf district of the small town of Kirchhain in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district in Hesse .
When and by whom it was built is not documented. The small tower castle , surrounded by a circular wall , was built in the 12th century to secure an ohmic transition from the old Lahnberg-Höhenweg towards Burgwald and probably destroyed around 1250 by the troops of Duchess Sophie von Brabant . Around 1283 the complex was already described as desolate .
In the 19th century, the originally higher tower hill was demolished because of a road construction. Visible structural remains are no longer there.
