The dismantled nuclear power plant Elk River ( English Elk River Station ) with a boiling water reactor was in Elk River in the US state of Minnesota .

history

The Elk River Power Plant was not always a nuclear power plant. Originally there was a coal and oil -fired power plant on the site . Later the plant was rebuilt and a boiling water reactor was placed on the site. The reactor was only a very small reactor at 24 megawatts. The reactor was demolished again in the 1970s. Today only waste from the area is incinerated.
