The Callaway nuclear power plant ( English Callaway Nuclear Generating Station ) with a pressurized water reactor is located in Callaway County in the US state of Missouri .
history
The power plant is operated by AmerenUE. The power plant was synchronized with the grid on October 24, 1984.
It was planned to expand the power plant with a US EPR , this plan was canceled in April 2009.
On October 1, 1975, work began on building a second unit with 1120 MWe net and 1176 MWe gross. However, on October 1, 1981, the project was abandoned.
On March 6, 2015, the NRC ( Nuclear Regulatory Commission ) extended the operating license for the nuclear power plant to October 18, 2044 .
