geography

The wasteland lies on the Franconian Rezat . It has now risen as part of Würzburger Strasse in the Lehrberg district.

history

The place was first mentioned by name in the first half of the 16th century as "Kolbmül", and since 1732 it has been called "Kohlmühle". The place name is derived from the field names "bey the piston" ( cattail ) from, a meadow near the coal mill.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the cabbage mill belonged to Lehrberg. The mill had the provost office of Herrieden of the Hochstift Eichstätt as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Kohlmühle was given house number 97 in the village of Lehrberg. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, the cabbage mill was assigned to the Lehrberg tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Lehrberg, founded in 1811 .
