The village of Koumeika ( Greek Κουμαίικα ( n. Pl. )) Is located in the south of the Greek island of Samos at an altitude of about 140 m. Koumeika has 370 inhabitants including the associated coastal settlements Ormos Koumeikon (Όρμος Κουμαιίκων ( m. Sg. ), 45) and Velanidia (Βελανιδιά Κουμαιίκων ( f. Sg. ), 10) 370 inhabitants, the village itself 315 inhabitants.

Neighboring villages are Neochori 2km west and Skoureika about 5.5 km south-west. Olive groves largely determine the landscape, the production of olive oil is the main income of the inhabitants. The small coastal settlement Ormos Koumeikon , local name Balos (Μπάλος ( m. Sg. )) Extends along a promenade with holiday homes and taverns.

The location of Koumeika near the sea but not visible from there is typical of the older villages of Samos and suggests that it was settled in the second half of the 16th century.

With the implementation of the municipality reform according to the Kapodistrias program in 1997, Koumeika was incorporated into the municipality of Marathokambos . After the merger of the former municipalities of the island after the administrative reform in 2010 to form the municipality of Samos ( Δήμος Σάμου Dímos Sámou ), Koumeika is now divided into two municipalities in 2019 as part of the municipality of Dytiki Samos .
