The village of Ydroussa ( Greek Υδρούσσα ( f. Sg. )) Is located in the west of the Greek island of Samos about 4 km southeast of Karlovasi . The village is located at the transition from the wine-growing region to the foothills of the western Ambelos Mountains at an altitude of around 230 m. The closest villages are Kondeika 2.5 km southwest and Kondakeika 2.7 km north.

Numerous older ruins in the village and the surrounding area testify to the ceramic production in Byzantine times. The place was first mentioned in 1625 as Fourni (Φούρνοι), probably the first settlers came from the island of the same name .

The area below the village is dominated by agriculture, the main income of the inhabitants is from wine production, but olives, cereals and vegetables are also grown. Tobacco cultivation was also widespread in the 19th century. The wider area is wooded with pine and cypress trees. The village was renamed from Fourni to Ydroussa in 1950 .

With the implementation of the municipality reform according to the Kapodistrias program in 1997, Ydroussa was incorporated into the municipality of Karlovasia. The 2010 administrative reform brought the former municipalities of the island together to form the municipality of Samos . Since the correction of the administrative reform in 2019 in two municipalities, Ydroussa has been part of the Dytiki Samos municipality .
