The village of Kosmadei ( Greek Κοσµαδαίοι ( m. Pl. )) Is about 600 m above sea level and is one of the highest villages on the Greek island of Samos .

Kosmadei is located on a flat ridge in the north-eastern Kerkis area, surrounded by vineyards. In the wider area of ​​the village there are also fruit, olive and walnut trees, poplars and, at higher altitudes, pines. The village has 80 inhabitants, the lower-lying hamlet of Nikoloudes 11 inhabitants. Kosmadei can only be reached via a serpentine road that branches off from the Leka road to Marathokambos . The main income of the inhabitants is mainly from viticulture, next to the cultivation of olives and animal husbandry.

Since 1918 Kosmadei formed together with Nikoloudes the rural community Kosmadei ( Κοινότητα Κοσμαδαίων Kinótita Kosmadéon ). With the implementation of the municipality reform according to the Kapodistrias program in 1997, Kosmadei was incorporated into the municipality of Karlovasia. The 2010 administrative reform brought the former municipalities of the island together to form the municipality of Samos . Since the correction of the administrative reform in 2019 in two municipalities, Kosmadei belongs to the municipality of Dytiki Samos .
