Krassimir Kochev
Krassimir Simeonow Kotschew (born May 4, 1974 in Petritsch , Blagoevgrad Oblast ) is a former Bulgarian wrestler . He was runner- up in 2001 in the free style light heavyweight division.
Career
Krassimir Kochev began wrestling as a teenager in 1986. He concentrated on the free style. After initial successes in the national junior division, he started for the top Bulgarian clubs Levski Sofia and Slawia Litex Sofia . At a height of 1.88 meters, he usually started as an adult in light heavyweight (up to 96/97 kg body weight), but did not shy away when it became necessary within the Bulgarian national team, also in super heavyweight or heavyweight (up to 130/120 kg body weight) ) to start. During his career he has had many coaches. In the national team he trained z. B. also Simeon Schterew . Since 2001 he has also fought in the German Bundesliga. He already played for 1. Luckenwalder SC , KSV Köllerbach and RWG Mömbis-Königshofen .
The international wrestling career of Krassimir Kochev began in 1991 at the Junior European Championship (Juniors) in Istanbul . He just missed a medal with a 4th place in the weight class up to 88 kg body weight. In 1993 he took part in a European championship for the first time among seniors. Here he took 4th place behind Arawat Sabejew from Germany , Oleksij Netschypurenko from Ukraine and Ali Kayalı from Turkey .
He then won his first medal at an international championship at the European Junior Championship (Espoirs) in 1994 in Kourtane / Finland. He took 2nd place in the heavyweight division behind Eduard Tohojew from Ukraine.
In the following years Krassimir Kochev started regularly at almost all world and European championships that took place without winning a medal. He could not qualify for participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta . But he was at the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney at the start. There he finished in the heavyweight division after a loss to Alexis Rodríguez Valera from Cuba and with a victory over Dolgorsürengiin Sumjaabadsar from Mongolia but only the 12th place.
From 2001 onwards, Krassimir Kochev achieved significantly better results at the international championships. At the European Championships in 2001 in Budapest , he came in the light heavyweight division with three wins on a good 4th place. He missed the jump on the podium with defeats against Eldari Luka Kurtanidze from Georgia a . Aljaksandr Schamarau from Belarus . At the world championship of the same year in Sofia he achieved the greatest success of his career in the light heavyweight division. He was won over Žarko Kočev, Macedonia , Johannes Roussow, Great Britain , Kang Dong-guk, South Korea a . Zoltán Farkas , Hungary and one defeat against Giorgi Gogschelidze , Russia Vice World Champion .
Krassimir Kochev won another medal at the 2003 World Cup, which took place in New York . With four wins and one defeat in the semifinals against Alireza Heidari from Iran with another victory over Tüwschintöriin Enchtujaa from Mongolia, he won a bronze medal in the World Cup . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he was at the start again. He met there but after a victory over Alexei Krugnjakow from Kyrgyzstan on Mogamed Ibragimov from Macedonia, against whom he lost and had to retire. This left him only 17th place.
At the end of his international career, Krassimir Kotschew even won a heavyweight medal at the European Championships in Varna in 2005 . He won there over Josip Matković from Croatia , Marek Mikulski from Poland and Nico Schmidt from Germany. He lost against Yekta Yılmaz Gül from Turkey and finished in 3rd place.
