Krzywe ( German  Krzywen , Sodrest , 1938 to 1945 Kriewen ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Wydminy (Widminnen) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ).

Geographical location

Krzywe is located in the eastern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 27 kilometers southeast of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) .

history

The small Gutsort Krzywen until before 1928 after 1871 Sodrest called, was in 1874 in the District Neuhoff ( Polish Zelki ) integrated, the for loop Lötzen in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905 to 1945: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. From the same date Krzywen was also in the civil registry Widminnen included (Wydminy). In 1910 there were 88 residents in Sodrest.

On September 30, 1928, the place lost its independence and was incorporated into Neuhoff (Zelki).

On June 3, 1938, Krzywen was renamed "Kriewen".

As a result of the war, the small village came to Poland in 1945 along with all of East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Krzywe”. Today it is part of the rural community Wydminy (Widminnen) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Before 1945 Krzywen resp. Sodrests in the Protestant Church Neuhoff in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Krzywe belongs to the Protestant parish Wydminy , a branch parish of the parish Giżycko in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and to the Catholic parish church Zelki in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .

Krzywe can be reached from the voivodship road DW 656 via Zelki (Neuhoff) . There is no train connection.
