Lincoln County is a county in the state of Wyoming in the United States . At the 2010 census , Lincoln County had 18,106 residents. The county seat is Kemmerer .

The county covers an area of 10,590 square kilometers; of which 52 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the counties: Teton County , Sublette County , Sweetwater County , Uinta County , Rich County, Utah, Bear Lake County, Idaho, Caribou County, Idaho, and Bonneville County, Idaho.

In the County parts are the Bridger-Teton National Forest , a National Forest , and the Fossil Butte National Monument , a paleontological deposit of fossils , especially fish from the Eocene .

Lincoln County was founded in 1911. It is named after the former President Abraham Lincoln .
