List of Austrian schilling gold coins
Between 1925 and 1938, i.e. in the First Republic and from 1934 in the corporate state , only 25 and 100 schilling gold coins were minted in Austria. In 1935, after Engelbert Dollfuss came to power, the two sides of gold coins changed.
The Austrian Central Mint did not issue any Schilling gold coins between 1945 and 1975 . It was not until 1976 that it brought out the first gold coin of the 2nd Republic , which collectors call the " Babenberger ". The Austrian Mint has minted the Gold Philharmonic since 1989 and has only minted at least one 500 Schilling and one 1000 Schilling commemorative coin every year since 1991. The minting quality of these commemorative coins was exclusively in the polished plate .
From March 1, 2002, it was no longer possible to use it at face value because the euro was introduced in Austria. However, the coins are exchangeable at face value without limitation.
