Deanery Montafon

It comprises 13 pastoral care offices in the Montafon in the Bludenz district - the churches of the parishes Lorüns and Stallehr historically belong to the dean's office Bludenz-Sonnenberg . The Laurentius Church in Bludenz is considered the mother church of all pastoral worries in the Montafon.

history

The association of the parishes of the Montafon valley originally existed as the municipality of Montafon , and the neighboring Walser communities of Galtür and Ischgl in Paznaun were also associated .

In 1816 the ecclesiastical area was finally separated from the diocese of Chur and placed under Brixen . The deanery itself has existed since 1821. It belonged to the diocese of Innsbruck until December 8, 1968 , when the diocese of Feldkirch was established for Vorarlberg.
