  1. Märkischer Kreis: "Divided by a three-row red-white (-silver) bar, above a black red-armored lion growing in yellow (gold), below in white (silver) a continuous black cross."
    (§ 2 Article 2 of the main statute of the Märkisches Kreis, coat of arms draft by Waldemar Mallek, decided by the district assembly of the Märkischer Kreis on March 4th, 1976 and approved by a certificate from the District President in Arnsberg of May 6th, 1976. )

Altena: In a golden field, the Brandenburg crossbeam, set in three rows of red and silver, with Saint Catherine of Alexandria watching over the crossbeam in a red dress and blue cloak, on her head the count's crown, in her right hand a silver sword and in holding the wooden straightening wheel with silver crescent-shaped tips in his left hand.
  3. Balve: "Split of silver (white) and blue, in front a half black continuous cross, behind half a silver eagle armed with gold (yellow)."
  4. Halver: "On a table set in three lines on a silver and red beam, and a femlinde on a golden (yellow) background."
