List of coats of arms in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
This list with its sub-lists, which can be reached via the navigation bar at the end of the page, contains - sorted according to the administrative structure - all coats of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania listed in Wikipedia . Most of the 805 municipalities in the country (as of September 5, 2011) do not have a coat of arms, but only just under 300. This list therefore not only shows the coat of arms, but also the information about which coat of arms and information is missing or in Wikipedia which municipalities do not have a coat of arms. The footnotes refer to the blazon of the corresponding coat of arms.
As can already be seen in the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the most common symbols are the bull of Mecklenburg and the griffin of Pomerania . But you can also find the Hanseatic cross. The combination of the colors red and white mostly demonstrates the Hanseatic tradition of the cities in this region.

[Details]
The large and small coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was designed and issued after reunification. On a small scale, the bull represents the Mecklenburg part of the country and the red griffin of Pomerania the West Pomerania region . On the whole there are two bulls, as Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz historically consisted of two parts . You can also see the eagle of Brandenburg , which not only stands for some smaller parts of the historical state, but also the historical ties between this state and Pomerania.
