Lost Identity (civil: Marius Grassler; born October 8, 1992 ) is a German DJ and producer. He is the resident DJ of Parookaville and plays at festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra as well as Q-Dance events around the world . His style can be classified in the area of hard style , with cross-genre elements of trap , dubstep and classic EDM being combined. He's signed to Coone 's Dirty Workz label . Lost Identity was originally founded as a duo in Geldern .

Founding members

  • Marius Grassler from Grefrath was active as a DJ under the name MG92 until 2015.
  • Sebastian Biesen (born September 7, 1995) from Issum was active as a DJ under the name SemixX until 2015 and played on Nature One , among others .

Career

Until 2016: meeting and Parookaville residence

Both played at the beginning of their careers as solo DJs at Abifeten, especially regularly in the E-Dry Geldern. They also organized their own event with 900 guests together. They were often booked together and played their gigs back-to-back, so that from the beginning of 2015 they officially only played together as Lost Identity. The name comes from the idea that both have lost their old " (DJ) identities " because of the merger . Festival appearances at World Club Dome , Ruhr In Love , Open Beatz , Nature One and the first edition of Parookaville followed. The latter is organized by Bernd Dicks, who is also the manager of Lost Identity. Since then they have been the resident DJs of Parookaville and represent the festival as ambassadors in clubs across Europe. So they played support for Tiësto and Marshmello in the boathouse in Cologne . They also mix the Parookaville compilations every year.

After their first two releases Superstar and Numbers in 2015, a remix for the official Parookaville anthem Fix Me followed in 2016 , which was released on twoloud's Playbox label. The next track Get Ready was created in 2017 together with Mark Bale and received support from VINAI and Cedric Gervais, among others . After Lost Identity delivered several guest mixes for Hypercat Radio (# 27, # 53, # 76, # 106, # 124, # 132) on BigcityBeats Radio and published their own podcast Fxck Genres , they have been with the " Harder Music " channel since 2018 responsible for I Love Radio. The song Send 'Em Home was released under KLASH, an Armada sub-label , and reached number 1 on the Beatport Hard Dance chart. The track Warped was able to build on the success and also reached the Beatport charts. It was performed by Headhunterz on their radio show Hard With Style and marks the beginning of the duo's collaboration with Dirty Workz. Since then, most of the productions have been released under the Wolf Clan sub-label.

Since 2018: International festival appearances

Since 2018 Lost Identity have been under contract with the Platform Agency, which Coone also represents internationally. In the same year they played at festivals such as New Horizons , Ruhr In Love , Electrisize and for the first time the Closing on the Parookaville Mainstage. Together with Lowriderz they presented their joint song Earthquake , which was published as part of the Q-Dance compilations for Q-Base and The Qontinent. Lost Identity also performed at these festivals.

The duo had their most important gig at Tomorrowland 2018. They played on the Freedom Stage, hosted by Sebastian Ingrosso's label Refune, the second largest stage of Tomorrowland, alongside artists like Alesso and Otto Knows . At the end of the year a small tour of Asia followed and an appearance at the Ultra Music Festival Korea . In 2019 they again took over the closing of the Parookaville Mainstage with guests Teknoclash and Le Shuuk and hosted their own stage at the festival. They also played at Tomorrowland again, this time on the Q-Dance Stage. The duo was previously part of the Q-Dance event X-Qlusive with Da Tweekaz in Amsterdam. As part of a series of parties initiated by Parookaville in the Megapark , they also played two shows with Hugel and W&W on Mallorca.

In October 2019, Biesen announced that he would no longer be active for Lost Identity for professional reasons. Their last appearance as a duo was at the Blacklist Festival. Since then, Grassler has continued the project alone. His first solo appearance took place at the Skyline Sessions as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event . Shortly afterwards, he released the track Who We Are, which premiered at Parookaville 2019 .
