Mödring is a village in the Carinthian market town of Metnitz with 54 (as of January 1, 2020) inhabitants. The village lies entirely in the territory of the cadastral community Feistritz .
location
The village is located on the right in the upper Metnitztal , on the slopes along three right-hand tributaries (Mödringbach, Schmiederbachl, Spinnergraben) of the Metnitzbach.
history
church
In Mödring there was a branch church of the Metnitz parish, a church dedicated to St. Oswald. The church is mentioned in 1585 as a wooden structure. In 1787 an application was made to repeal. In the middle of the 20th century only sparse remains of the church wall were left.
Community membership
As part of the tax and cadastral municipality of Feistritz, Mödring became part of the municipality of Grades in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49 . In 1973 the municipalities of Grades and Metnitz were merged, so that today the village belongs to the municipality of Metnitz.

Parts of the village
In the area of the village are the single farms Felferer , Lorentscher , Moserkeusche , Muralt , Partigger , Preisöxl , Schaffer , Schmieder , Schubrand and Strutz .
A temporary distinction was officially made between the parts of the village on the shady side and the sunny side :
Downside
In 1890 16 houses with 78 inhabitants, in 1900 16 houses with 82 inhabitants, in 1910 15 houses and 72 inhabitants and in 1961 12 houses with 39 inhabitants were given for the shady side area .
Sunny side
For the Sonnseite area 6 houses with 27 inhabitants were given in 1890, 6 houses with 25 inhabitants in 1900, 8 houses and 32 inhabitants in 1910 and 14 houses with 64 inhabitants in 1961.
