Marienheim is a village in the Carinthian market town of Metnitz with 20 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The village is largely (2001: 12 buildings, house numbers 1–3, 5–16, 19–22) on the territory of the cadastral community Feistritz , a small part (2001: 2 buildings, house numbers 4 and 17) is in the cadastral community of Metnitz Country .

location

The village is located on the eastern edge of the municipality of Metnitz, on the valley floor of the Metnitztal, on both sides of the Metnitztal state road L62. At Marienheim, the L62c (Prekova-Straße) , which leads over the Prekova to Strasbourg into the Gurktal , branches off from the L62.

history

In the course of the reforms after the 1848/49 revolution, the houses in the area of ​​the cadastral community Feistritz became part of the municipality of Grades, the houses in the area of ​​the cadastral community of Metnitz Land became part of the municipality of Metnitz. In 1973 the municipalities of Grades and Metnitz were merged, so that the village today belongs entirely to the municipality of Metnitz.
