Zanitzberg (formerly Zainitzberg ) is a village in the Carinthian market town of Metnitz with 18 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The village lies entirely in the territory of the Metnitz Land cadastral community .

location

The village is located in the extreme north of the municipality of Metnitz, on the north side of the Metnitz Mountains on the slopes southwest of the village of Laßnitz . Together with Laßnitz, it can only be reached from the rest of the Metnitz community via Styrian territory.

history

In the area of ​​the Metnitz-Land tax municipality, the place belonged to the Grades tax district in the first half of the 19th century . When the political communities were founded in the course of the reforms after the 1848/49 revolution, Zanitzberg came to the Metnitz community and thus to the Sankt Veit an der Glan district .
