Teichl (formerly: Teuchl , occasionally also Teichel ) is a village in the Carinthian market town of Metnitz with 169 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The village lies entirely in the territory of the Metnitz Land cadastral community .

location

The village is located in the Teichl, the valley of the Teichlbach - a left tributary of the Metnitzbach - which leads north from the municipal capital Metnitz to the Metnitz Mountains .

history

In the area of ​​the Metnitz-Land tax municipality, the place belonged to the Grades tax district in the first half of the 19th century . When the political communities were founded as part of the reforms after the 1848/49 revolution, Teichl came to the Metnitz community and thus to the Sankt Veit an der Glan district .
