Unteralpe is a village in the Carinthian market town of Metnitz with 61 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The village lies entirely in the territory of the Metnitz Land cadastral community .
location
The village is located in the short valley of the Unteralpenbach, a left tributary of the Metnitzbach, which leads north from the Upper Metnitztal into the Metnitz Mountains .
history
In the area of the Metnitz-Land tax municipality, the place belonged to the Grades tax district in the first half of the 19th century . When the political communities were founded in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Unteralpe came to the community of Metnitz and thus to the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan .
Hof Ratschacher (the southeastern neighbor of Hof Kahl, which still exists today ) was destroyed by fire in February 1894.
