The place is about halfway between Wels and Grieskirchen , 1 kilometer south of Bad Schallerbach , on a hill in the ridge between Trattnach and Innbach . This Müllerberg represents the last elevation of the north-east grazing Riedl. The B 137  Innviertler Straße , which circumnavigates here high above the Trattnachtal Bad Schallerbach, passes the place north.

The location includes about 20 buildings with around 70 inhabitants, two units each in Bad Schallerbach and Pichl, and 2 houses in Wallern (Schallerbach houses are adjacent, only for statistical reasons as a single location). To the south-west, on the municipal boundary of Schlüßlberg – Pichl – Bad Schallerbach, there are a few more houses in Buchet that already belong to Schößlberg.

Because the place falls into the districts of Wels-Land and Grieskirchen, it is even located in two European NUTS 3 regions of Austria, namely Linz – Wels  (AT312) with the southern Pichler Rotte, and Innviertel  (AT311) with the northeastern houses - that Hausruckviertel is divided into the NUTS structure .

In terms of landscape, the area is part of the Inn- and Hausruckviertel hill country .

geology

The Müllerberg area is formed from the Kletzenmarkt - glauconite sand formation . The zone is also rich in fossils , and forms abundant mussel shells and isolated gastropod remains. The series comes from the Ottnangian (Middle Miocene ) about 18-17 million years ago, and belongs to the general series of layers of the tertiary sands of the Upper Austrian Molasse Basin . They represent sands from the area of the primeval Danube that are transported by tidal currents and that are up to 200 meters thick.
In 1999 a vivianite was found here - an iron phosphate that probably only mineralized in fens sediments from organic residues - which is only known from a few places in Austria. The dating is difficult to trace.

history

The location is named as Müldnerberg 1787, Müllnersberg around 1820 or Müllnerberg 1830 and 1857, in other older maps you can also find Buchsbauer or Gstocket noted here.

In the 1820s the village is named as belonging to the parish Wallern in the Parz district commissioner.

The old farmsteads of the 18th and 19th centuries Century are Müllner (s) berg (today's Hnr. Müllerberg 3–5 in Pichl), the Kolleder (Am Müllerberg 24 in Schallerbach), Blankenjakel (Am Müllerberg 24 near Buchet), Buchsbauer (Müllerberg 11 in Wallern), Müllerbergerer / Reischl ( Müllerberg 4 in Pichl) and Gstocket (Am Müllerberg 29 in Schallerbach).
