The M898 motorway ( English for 'M898 Motorway') is a 1 mile (1.6 km) long motorway in Renfrewshire , Scotland .
It is a junction from the M8 Motorway to the Erskine Bridge . It is the highest numbered motorway in the UK and one of the shortest at one mile. There is no hard shoulder along the entire length. The northern end of the motorway is the junction with the A726 , the old place with the toll booths for tolls on the Erskine Bridge, which has been toll-free since April 1, 2006.
